Coresteel’s Northland franchise has proven the region’s building industry is strong, winning the Overall Winner of Franchise of the Year Award (2013) for the fourth year running.
Coresteel’s Northland franchise was also winners of the highest sales units, with the most projects sold last year, compared to anywhere else in the country.
Coresteel National Manager Haemish Reid says Northland’s wins were announced at the Coresteel annual conference, held recently in Tauranga. He says Northland’s consistent performance reflects the company’s long-standing position in the Northland community, as well as its ability to price buildings so effectively with Coresteel’s cold formed steel technology.
“The Northland team were responsible for some exciting builds last year, including Pacific Motor Group, the Clearance Shed in Port Road and Onerahi Soccer Club’s new headquarters.
“They’ve shown how versatile the Coresteel building system is, lending itself to large scale commercial and industrial builds, as well as smaller community buildings like the Onerahi Soccer Club, or airplane hangars and rural utility sheds.”
Coresteel Northland manager and Hill Construction owner Wayne Hill says the Coresteel system has been a Godsend for his business.
“Everyone in the construction industry is now looking for cold formed steel so without Coresteel, we would have been left behind. Coresteel’s technology has genuinely revolutionised New Zealand’s building industry.“We’re now working with other building companies in the north so they can take advantage of the Coresteel system, because that’s what the customer wants. And Coresteel has such a strong name in Northland, with the great work done by our sales team, who are really passionate about the product.” Mr Reid also believes the success of Coresteel in Northland is reflected in the company’s unique technology. “With the Donovan Group’s technology, steel is now much more cost-effective for large scale commercial and industrial buildings. We’re proud of the fact that we’re a New Zealand company, using New Zealand steel and New Zealand technology.” Franchises across the country are continuing to experience steady growth. “All our franchises are busy, especially Wellington and the wider Auckland area. In fact, our North Harbour franchise were the winners of the Coresteel Excellence Award for 2013.” Current and new projects on the horizon for the Northland Coresteel franchise are buildings for Commercial Diesel, Ten4 Truck Builders and Placemakers. Coresteel is also giving back to the Northland community this year, throwing its support behind the Northland Taniwha rugby team this year as the back-of-shirt sponsor.
