The Opportunity 

Reporting to our Design Station Operations Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to be at the very front of forward thinking, breaking ground and disrupting the norm within the construction industry. 

As an experienced Quantity Surveyor, you will use your skills and knowledge for the commercial delivery of our construction projects, ensuring they are achieved to the highest quality standards.

The main responsibilities of the role are: 

  • Oversee the quotation process, including variations for Design Station and quotes for Coresteel Buildings 
  • Work closely with the Donovan Group Project Quotes Estimator to effectively manage variations and costs for projects 
  • Deal with disputes arising from variations 
  • Study Engineer’s building plans and suggest amendments if required 
  • Ensure the engineering and design aligns with Manufacturing capability 
  • Analyse completed projects to determine ROI and compare cost
  • Maintain constructive and positive relationships with contractors, clients and franchisees 
  • Review and improve the variation between quotes and final BOM (actuals vs estimates) 

About You 

You will have at least 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on commercial projects. As well as this experience, you will have the following skills, experience and qualifications: 

  • Sound construction knowledge
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Detailed knowledge of existing technology in the field, legal issues and complex regulations 
  • Sound knowledge in commercial construction contracts 
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Engineering, Management or related field
  • Working knowledge in a Quantity Surveyor role 
  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing and industry
  • Experience at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
